Abes Pagoda Bar brings you moody vibes by way of decor, and deliciously crafted cocktails with really awesome presentations. From the outside, the restaurant/bar doesn't look like much, but once you're on the other side, you'll notice details like the tri-color style of lighting, the collection of night lamps on top the bar area, the mini hallway with hanging Chinese lanterns, and towards the back ...two pool tables with additional seating areas and a TV.
The cocktails and bites tasted for this feature are all highly recommended, and that's saying a lot. First up was the Liquid Sunshine, if you like cocktails with lychee you'll enjoy this drink. Next was the Smooth Operator, refreshingly spicy. Jungle Bird makes the third round, a bittersweet taste due to the campari, but you can always ask the bartender to adjust the campari for less bitter. The small bites also came to play, and they were just as tasty. First bite was the Sweet N' Sticky Wings, marinated in a gochujang sauce... very delish. Next was the Buffalo Wings, a level up from your average buffalo wings from presentation to taste, with added sauce on the side. The last two bites included their Elote Egg Rolls (again a level up from the average) and a Hot Dipped Crispy Chicken Sandwich. So three cocktails, and four bites in, and I'm like "wow, let's do two more drinks for our readers to choose from." Gotta have options right, lol. So came The Zombie served in a cute tiki mug, and Captain's Coffee, a frozen baileys like goodness presented with coffee beans & an umbrella for presentation, coffee lovers, you're welcome :-)
