Forbes.8 w/Wyclef Jean | Fueled By Culture

I had the pleasure of attending last month's Forbes.8 event, and it was an evening to remember. The evening was filled with live music, hennessy cocktails, passed bites, a few famous faces, and a panel discussion on "Tech and Culture." The panelists were Thasunda Duckett (CEO of CHASE consumer bank), Wyclef Jean and moderator Marcus Damas (founder Fueled By Culture).

Tech and Culture covered topics on being black in the era of technology, and inspired the entrepreneurs in attendance with cultural insights. One of the night's memorable quotes came from Thasunda speaking on the importance of job titles in the industry, or any other concentration really, "I rent my title, but own my character." If you think about that for a sec, it makes perfect sense. A title doesn't make you, it's your character, in the end it speaks volumes.

After the panel, the night came to a close with an engaging performance by Wyclef Jean. Umm hello, its freaking Wyclef!
