NYFW SS25 | Chuks Collins

Chuks Collins Takes Center Stage at New York Fashion Week: A Powerful Showcase of Sustainability, Empowerment, and Ethical Fashion.

New York, NY – September 8, 2024 – Last night, acclaimed designer Chuks Collins dominated the runway at New York Fashion Week with a breathtaking show that merged high fashion with a powerful message of sustainability and social responsibility. Kicking off with supermodel Maria Borges, the event drew an array of fashion icons, influencers, and celebrities for an unforgettable evening that spotlighted innovation, ethical sourcing, and community empowerment.

Collins, known for his commitment to sustainability and support for local artisans, has made waves globally by using his platform to uplift women recovering from domestic abuse. His latest collection was a celebration of this mission, further solidifying his brand’s dedication to empowerment, ethical fashion, and positive social impact.

Notable guests in attendance included:

  • London Brown – Actor and comedian, Power Book III: Raising Kanan

  • Nicole Miller – Renowned fashion designer

  • Nanette Lepore – Celebrated American fashion designer

  • Teddy Von Ranson – Acclaimed menswear designer

  • Laird Borrelli-Person – Senior Fashion News Editor at Vogue

  • Kelly Turlington Burns – Founder of Every Mother Counts, sister to supermodel Christy Turlington

  • Constance White – Fashion editor, author, and industry thought leader

  • Tavque – Influential stylist and creative director

The runway dazzled with designs that encapsulated Collins' signature style—an elegant fusion of tradition and modernity. As models showcased his collection, the event underscored the importance of sustainability in fashion, with Collins continuing to lead the charge by promoting ethical practices and celebrating artisanship.

Collins shared, “I am grateful for the opportunity to keep creating and expressing myself through my work. This collection means a lot to me, and the homecoming process has been very healing for me.” He elaborated, “The collection is deeply inspired by my African and Western roots, reflecting a blend of cultures and experiences. Having grown up in Africa and Europe, and now living in the US, I have been empowered and nurtured by many women, including my grandmother, who taught me how to sew. This cultural tapestry forms the foundation of 'Nné,' infusing each piece with rich narratives and a deep sense of heritage.”

“It was a magical night,” Collins added. “My goal has always been to create fashion that not only captivates but also contributes to the world in meaningful ways. To have such a supportive audience for both my designs and my message of empowerment was truly rewarding.”

The evening was more than just a fashion show—it was a celebration of inclusivity, sustainability, and a bright future for the fashion industry.
